Recently Handled Minerals

The Kongsberg silver mines are famous since the 17th ecntury and are for sure the most relevant locality for Native silver world-wide. And here we have a really representive thumbnail - a well formed wire with this wonderful patina. Very aesthetic and on same high quality all the way around.

884 gramm of lustrous, well shaped Scheelite in the most intense color you will ever see of this mineral! This is not orange - this is already red! It looks like lava! Xuebaoding produced amazing Scheelite specimens - but this size, this volume even in union withthis superb color makes this piece stand out the crowd!

Lovely spray of stibnite crystals on a small calcite matrix. Very showy all the way around! Ex Oliver Konczer collection.

Gorgeous etched bi-colour fluorite from Zogno! The colours are lovely, and the composition is just striking! No damage. Ex Robert Brandstetter collection no.677, his label is still coming with the piece.

I saw hundreds of specimen from this discovery - and out of a ton you will not find more than a fist full of pieces which show such perfect quality. The crystals are like glass, each one is highly lustrous, the phantoms are sharp as well and the cryszal tips are in very good condition. Just tiny chips are present, but no significant damage to report.

Nicely etched fluorite crystal cluster from Zogno, Italy. The etching produced numerous new faces, rounded corners, hollow forms, all making up for a wonderful 3-dimensional structure on the front and side faces. No damage.

"The sausage dog" made of a classical, German pyromorphite from Bad Ems. The light orange-brown pyromorphite crystals are scattered throughout the matrix where near the center of balance they create more defined radial clusters. Ex Alfred Haas coll.

A full adamite ball, 17 mm in diameter, sitting on gossan matrix. Perfect, and lovely!

The rhodochrosite crystals are all razor sharp terminated, they show amazing texture and glassy character. The raspberry red color is a wonderful contrast to jet-black highly lustrous manganite matrix. A rare variety from this famous locality. No significant damages to report.

A group of well shaped, lustrous and gemmy titanites. It shows an uncommonly flat twinned habit and a very pleasing green color. Smaller crystals attached on the side highlight the predominatnt position of the main crystal. No significant damages.

The two main crystals are 44 and 36mm across, they are exposed and show very good translucency. The photo was done with just minor backlight to show the dark green center and the purple zonings along all edges. No significant damages to report.

Spheres of dark green Malachite are almost completely covered with yellow Pyromorphite crystals. They are highly lustrous and all sharp terminated. Rare material and hard to obtain in our days.
