Alpine Minerals #6

CL01 - Iron Rose - 3350€
Fibbia, Tessin, Switzerland
Size: 8 x 6.8 x 4.3 cm

Highly lustrous hematite aggregate measuring 5.1 cm across perched on adularia and granite matrix! The asymetric growth of the ironrose sets a strong dynamic impact and gives character to the piece. Furthermore, the stepped growth of the shiny faces is particularly beautiful and makes this piece truly special. Tiny bruising is presend along a few edges, but this is truly insignificant. The overall composition is just amazing! Great choice for every lover of alpine minerals!

EH01 - Epidote with Byssolite - SOLD
Knappenwand, Untersulzbachtal, Pinzgau, Salzburg, Austria
Size: 6.8 x 3.7 x 2.7 cm

Superb epidote on bysolite floater crystal cluster! The epidotes show magnificent luster, as well as clarity and the typical olive colour when backlight. All crystals in the front are undamaged, just one small crystal in the rear side is not terminated. This is, however, insignificant and not at all visible from the front side. This piece comes from the fecent mining period and is one of the very best floater combination specimens found in recent years!

Superb thumbnail of alpine milarite! The main crystal is doubly terminated and free of damage. One of the side crystals is not terminated. I love the composition of the piece and the fact that one half of the milarite has the typical chlorite inclusions, and the other half is free of chlorite. The top section is even gemmy and clear!

Le Trient glacier, Le Trient Valley, Wallis, Switzerland

This is a superb gwindel of probably the rarest of all gwindel styles: half open and half closed. The clarity and luster are indeed amazing, there are no inclusions from top to the very bottom. the right edge shows little bruising, however, this had happened in the pocket and is all slightly recrystalized. Great choice for every gwindel enthusiast!
